In which unit would you teach the grammar points that you listed in blog #1?
Some points could be taught throughout the class as mentioned. These include using correct tenses, subject-verb agreement, word choice, et cetera. Unit 2 would be a good place to start teaching and reinforcing ideas of organized writing, especially since the essay for that unit focuses on ONE way in particular the student thinks technology negatively impacts society. This could be carried through to unit 3 with the first argumentative essays. These argumentative essays are also a good place to teach students how to write to different audiences. Their essays could be expanded on to have them revise them to be read by a friend, a parent or an elected official as we discussed in class.
